KAI Ensures Comfortable Waiting Times During Eid Transport Period
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta is ensuring passenger comfort while waiting for train arrivals through various facilities at stations during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr 1447 H transport period. Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, met at Pasar Senen Station in Jakarta on Sunday, stated that the festive spirit of Eid al-Fitr is reflected in family activities that can be carried out in the station area. “During this year’s Lebaran transport period, in 2026, we have improvements in facilities such as giving souvenirs or merchandise to children, as well as play areas for young children,” said Franoto. In ANTARA’s observations at Pasar Senen Station and Gambir Station, for example, children’s play areas (kids corners) can be found in the departure areas. Their location near adult seating areas allows parents to directly supervise their little ones in a comfortable and safe manner. Near the departure platform at Pasar Senen Station, parents can also take their children to a reading corner that is easily and freely accessible before continuing their journey to their hometowns or places of work. In addition, there is a coworking space corner that prospective passengers can utilise while waiting for the train, various food/drink and souvenir shops, shower rooms, and storage lockers at Pasar Senen and Gambir Stations. Furthermore, at Gambir Station, prospective passengers can take a brief rest at a transit hotel managed by KAI Wisata. Further, Franoto said that PT KAI is also enhancing mobile customer service to assist prospective passengers in printing boarding passes or accessing other travel-related information and station mobility flows. “We also prepare mobile customer service, and there are excellent parking officers. In addition, to provide a sense of safety and comfort, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is deploying more than 700 security personnel, including detachments from the TNI and Police,” said Franoto.
