Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has assured that all victims in the train collision incident at Bekasi Timur Station are receiving treatment as quickly as possible. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated in Jakarta on Monday evening that KAI is collaborating with Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and medical teams to swiftly provide assistance to all victims. She noted that 240 passengers from the long-distance KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train have been declared safe and successfully evacuated following the collision with a Commuter Line train at Bekasi Timur Station. “All 240 passengers of the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek have been successfully evacuated in safe condition,” she said. Meanwhile, efforts are focused on Commuter Line passengers affected by the incident. To date, 38 Commuter Line passengers have been taken to hospitals for further treatment. They were referred to several nearby healthcare facilities, including RSUD Bekasi, Primaya Hospital Bekasi Timur, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung, and RSU Bella Bekasi. KAI also stated that based on preliminary data, four Commuter Line passengers have been declared deceased due to the incident. Earlier, PT Kereta Api Indonesia expressed apologies to all customers for the incident, focusing on evacuating passengers at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, following the collision between a Commuter Line train and a long-distance train on Monday evening. “We extend our apologies for this incident. Our current focus is to ensure that all passengers and crew receive the quickest and best possible treatment,” she said. “We are also continuing to coordinate with all relevant parties on the ground,” she added. KAI confirmed that all efforts are focused on the passenger and crew evacuation process, as well as victim treatment at the scene, with the primary priority being safety. Based on information obtained, the Commuter Line was stationary on track 1 heading to Cikarang or eastbound. Moments later, the long-distance train from the west entered the same track and directly collided with the Commuter Line.
