KAI Diverts Long-Distance Trains from Gambir to Jatinegara Station Amid Jakarta Protest

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 1 Jakarta has diverted long-distance train services from and to Gambir Station to Jatinegara Station on Friday, following a demonstration in the Hotel Indonesia roundabout area in Jakarta. Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo stated that from 1 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, all train journeys from Gambir Station would be halted at Jatinegara Station to serve boarding passengers. Franoto added that KAI had conducted outreach via short message service (SMS) and WhatsApp blast to affected prospective passengers. Passengers are urged to manage their departure time to avoid missing the train, considering potential congestion on several main roads in Jakarta leading to station access.
