KAI Deputy Director Assures Landslide Disruption on Bandung Route Has Been Resolved
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT KAI (Persero) Deputy Director Dody Budiawan has assured that the disruption to the railway line caused by a landslide in the Bandung area, West Java, specifically between Maswati and Sasaksaat stations, has been resolved.
“Yesterday there was a landslide in the Bandung area, West Java. Train journeys were held up due to this landslide, but alhamdulillah, we have resolved it,” said Dody during a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Thursday.
Dody explained that the landslide incident temporarily halted train services and caused disruptions, but immediate handling restored the situation to normal.
He detailed that the landslide occurred on an embankment near the tracks, leading to service interruptions and even an incident involving a train derailment.
Meanwhile, passengers were redirected to the Whoosh high-speed train service to Jakarta, allowing their journeys to continue swiftly and smoothly.
“The passengers were transferred; we arranged for the Whoosh train, which took them directly to Jakarta. So alhamdulillah, the passengers were also pleased as they could reach Jakarta quickly,” said Dody.
Previously, PT KAI’s Bandung Regional Operations (Daop) 2 had guaranteed a 100 per cent ticket refund for all passengers affected by the cancellation of journeys due to the landslide between Maswati and Sasaksaat in West Bandung on Wednesday (1/4).
“For those affected by the cancellation, they can request a refund of 100 per cent of the fare shown on the ticket,” said Bandung Daop 2 KAI Public Relations Manager Kuswardojo when contacted in Bandung on Wednesday (1/4) night.
In addition to the full refund option, KAI also provided alternative solutions for passengers who still wished to continue their journey to their destination by facilitating other modes of transportation.
