KAI Daop Madiun adds extra train services to Jakarta
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 7 Madiun is providing additional train services passing through its operational area with Jakarta as the destination, offering extra mobility options for the public amid increasing travel demand.
Daop 7 Madiun Public Relations Manager Tohari said in Madiun on Sunday that the additional train passing through the Daop 7 Madiun area is the Gajayana Tambahan service on the Malang–Madiun–Gambir route.
“This addition is part of KAI’s readiness to provide transport services for the public while continuing to prioritise safety, comfort and smooth operational running of train journeys,” he said.
According to him, KAI continuously monitors public travel needs and prepares services that match operational conditions on the ground.
“KAI continues to ensure the public has access to safe and comfortable rail transport through adjustments to travel services. Every travel arrangement is made with attention to the readiness of rolling stock, infrastructure and safety aspects,” Tohari said.
He explained that the service adjustment is also part of KAI’s readiness to anticipate increased passenger transport demand due to volcanic conditions at Mount Anak Krakatau.
KAI continues to coordinate and monitor the developing situation to ensure train journeys remain safe and under control.
The Gajayana Tambahan service on the Malang–Gambir route operated through the Daop 7 Madiun area departs from Malang Station at 20.15 WIB. It then arrives at Blitar Station at 21.49 and departs at 21.51 WIB. At Kediri Station it arrives at 22.47 and departs at 22.50 WIB, and at Madiun Station it arrives at 00.24 and departs at 00.29 WIB.
Tohari urged passengers to prepare their journeys well and to check the latest information through the Access by KAI application, KAI’s official website and other official information channels.
Amid the volcanic activity of Mount Anak Krakatau, KAI also advises passengers to maintain their health during travel, including wearing masks when necessary, especially for those with sensitivity to volcanic ash exposure or air quality in affected areas.
“KAI invites passengers to arrive at the station early, confirm their travel schedule and follow staff instructions so that journeys proceed safely and comfortably,” he said.
