KAI Daop 8 Introduces Mudik Promotion with Discounts of Up to 30 Percent

Surabaya — PT KAI Daerah Operasi (Daop) 8 Surabaya has launched the ‘Ramadan Festive’ programme, offering a mudik promotion consisting of ticket discounts of up to 30 per cent and a flash sale with prices starting at Rp150,000 for the public during Ramadan 2026. Mahendro Trang Bawono, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, in Surabaya, on Sunday, said the programme runs for one day on 9 March 2026 to give the public the opportunity to obtain train tickets at a more affordable rate. ‘This programme is a momentum for people to plan their journeys earlier with more affordable rates,’ he said. He explained that under the mudik promo, customers can receive a 30 per cent discount when purchasing tickets on 9 March 2026 for departures between 9 and 20 March 2026. In addition, he said, the promo has a limited quota subject to ticket availability and can be obtained through all official KAI ticket sale channels. ‘The discount applies while promo-ticket allocations remain available,’ he added. He noted that customers can buy train tickets at Rp150,000 for economy class, Rp300,000 for executive class and Rp700,000 for the ‘priority’ service. ‘The Flash Sale’ can only be accessed via the Access by KAI application on 9 March 2026 from 16:30 to 17:30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). He added that, the promotional rates apply for travel between 9-20 March 2026, while for the ‘priority’ rail service managed by KAI Wisata, the travel period is 11-20 March 2026. ‘Promotional tickets remain cancellable or eligible for rescheduling in line with applicable terms,’ he said. He stated the public can obtain complete information on the list of trains and promo details via the Access by KAI app. Through the Ramadan Festive series, KAI Daop 8 Surabaya hopes the public can plan journeys more easily and enjoy a comfortable train journey during the Ramadan month.
