KAI Daop 8 Guarantees Normal Train Operations Despite Surabaya Power Outage

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 8 Surabaya has assured that train operations and passenger services at Surabaya Gubeng Station continue to run normally despite a power outage affecting several areas of Surabaya, including Gubeng. The outage temporarily caused the station’s lighting to go out, but train operations were not impacted. KAI Daop 8 Surabaya confirmed that both long-distance and local train services at Surabaya Gubeng Station are still serving boarding and alighting passengers as usual.

Acting Public Relations Manager of Daop 8 Surabaya, Erlangga Budi Laksono, stated on Saturday (20/6) that the outage occurred due to a disruption in the electricity supply from PLN in the area. “However, several passenger service facilities continue to operate normally using power supplied by generators that have been prepared by Gubeng Station,” he said.

KAI Daop 8 Surabaya urged passengers to remain calm during the power supply disruption. The company also advised passengers to stay alert and cautious while carrying out activities at the station, and to always follow the instructions of station officers.
