KAI Daop 7: Several Train Services Disrupted After Logawa Train Collides with Truck

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 7 Madiun, East Java, has reported that several train services were disrupted following a collision between the Logawa train and a truck at a guarded level crossing in Nganjuk. The incident occurred at level crossing JPL 103, kilometre 126+428, on the Bagor-Saradan line on Thursday at approximately 2.34 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.

Daop 7 Madiun Public Relations Manager Tohari confirmed the incident, stating that the Logawa train struck a truck at the crossing. He said that railway personnel and related parties are currently handling the situation at the site to restore normal train operations.

Tohari revealed that a number of train services experienced delays or were forced to make unscheduled stops during the handling process. Affected services include the Ranggajati, Argo Semeru, Brantas, Argo Wilis, and Jayakarta trains, as well as other services passing through the route.

Coordination with the local resort police has been established for further handling. The truck sustained significant damage, with its body severely dented. An inspection of the locomotive is still underway to assess the extent of the damage and the resulting losses. Information regarding casualties is still being coordinated with the relevant authorities.

KAI Daop 7 extended an apology to passengers for the inconvenience caused by the disruption to train services. The company emphasised that it is working with all relevant parties to restore normal operations as quickly as possible while prioritising safety. KAI also urged road users to exercise discipline and comply with regulations when crossing level crossings by stopping, looking left and right, ensuring no train is approaching, and always giving priority to trains to prevent accidents.
