PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 6 Yogyakarta has provided free Wi-Fi network facilities at 33 stations within its working area to improve comfort and facilitate communication activities for railway customers.

Feni Novida Saragih, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, said in a written statement received in Yogyakarta on Monday that the provision of free Wi-Fi is a form of continuous service improvement to provide added value for railway service users in the digital era.

“KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta provides additional services and makes it easier for passengers to connect to the internet and communicate. We have introduced free Wi-Fi at 33 stations, including Yogyakarta Station, Solo Balapan Station, and Purwosari Station,” said Feni.

She explained that the internet connection provided has speeds ranging from 100 to 400 megabits per second (Mbps). This service is expected to support and facilitate various customer activities while in the station area.

The 33 stations in the Daop 6 area that have been equipped with free Wi-Fi facilities include Purwosari, Solo Balapan, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, Klaten, Lempuyangan, Solo Jebres, Sragen, Patukan, Sentolo, Sukoharjo, Brambanan, Ceper, Delanggu, Gawok, Goprak, Kadipiro, and Kalioso stations.

In addition, similar facilities are also available at Kebonromo, Kedundang, Kedungbanteng, Kemiri, Maguwo, Masaran, Palur, Pasar Nguter, Salem, Solo Kota, Srowot, Sumberlawang, Wates, Jenar, and Rewulu stations.

Feni added that internet connectivity has now become a basic need for the public, whether to support communication, book onward transport, or complete work.

“We hope that railway service users can make wise use of this free Wi-Fi access facility to support positive daily activities,” she said.
