KAI Daop 6 prepares 30 per cent discount for 30 commercial economy trains
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), specifically KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, is offering a 30 per cent discount on tickets for 30 commercial economy class train journeys. This policy serves as support for the stimulus provided by the Ministry of Transportation to facilitate public mobility during the school holiday season.
Feni Novida Saragih, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, stated in Yogyakarta on Saturday that the discount programme aims to provide more affordable mass transport access for those travelling for tourism, education, or family visits. “Through the 30 per cent price reduction for commercial economy class trains, KAI Daop 6 is ready to support the surge in public mobility during the school holiday period. Discounted ticket bookings opened on 6 June 2026 and are valid for departures between 20 June and 5 July 2026,” said Feni.
According to Feni, this ease of transport access is expected to create a domino effect on the regional economy, ranging from the tourism and hospitality sectors to local MSMEs. With more efficient transport costs, it is hoped that the public will have more financial leeway to allocate budgets towards holiday activities.
Furthermore, she noted that discounted tickets can be purchased through all official KAI ticket sales channels. However, there are several terms and conditions for customers to note, including the fact that the discount does not apply to special fares and cannot be combined with other reduction programmes or discounts.
“Tickets with discounted rates can still be cancelled or rescheduled in accordance with applicable regulations. This programme is available while ticket allocations last; therefore, we urge the public to plan their journeys early,” she added.
The list of 30 commercial economy class trains receiving the discount includes Malabar, Mutiara Selatan, Senja Utama Solo, Faring Utama Solo, Mataram, Lodaya, Sancaka, Gaya Baru Malam Selatan, Bogowonto, Gajahwong, Senja Utama YK, Fajar Utama YK, Madiun Jaya, Singasari, Brantas, Wijayakusuma, and Bangunkarta. Additionally, the list includes the Kertanegara, Malioboro Ekspres, Joglosemarkerto, Banyubiru Ekspres, Sancaka Utara, Majapahit, Logawa, Jayakarta, Jaka Tingkir, Progo, Banyubiru, Matarmaja, and Pasundan trains.
KAI Daop 6 remains committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and punctual travel experience for all passengers. “We invite the public to make the most of this discount momentum to enjoy the school holidays with their families,” concluded Feni.
