During the period from January to June 2026, a total of 34 train journeys originating from the Daop 4 Semarang area achieved an On Time Performance (OTP) rate of nearly 100 percent. This achievement serves as proof of KAI’s commitment to providing reliable, safe, and punctual transportation services for the public. The 34 journeys covered various strategic routes across Java Island. Cumulatively, the punctuality performance in Daop 4 Semarang throughout the first half of 2026 showed excellent figures. The logistics sector also demonstrated positive performance, with the OTP for freight train departures reaching 97.65 percent and the OTP for arrivals at 98.06 percent. KAI Daop 4 Semarang Public Relations Manager, Luqman Arif, stated that this achievement was the result of consistent operational discipline and synergy among all KAI elements. ‘This success is tangible proof of our commitment to delivering the best service. Coordination across all lines, from dispatchers, train drivers, station staff, to the facilities and infrastructure maintenance team, has been running very well,’ said Luqman on Monday (27/7). Luqman explained that KAI Daop 4 Semarang implemented various strategic measures to maintain this performance. One of them was strengthening coordination between the Operations Control Centre (Pusdalop) and field officers to make journey management more responsive to track dynamics. In addition, maintenance of facilities and infrastructure is carried out regularly and on schedule. KAI also utilises a real-time monitoring system to detect potential obstacles early and conducts routine operational evaluations to refine delay control procedures. According to Luqman, the high level of punctuality provides certainty for customers in planning their activities. ‘Punctuality not only increases public trust but also provides a sense of comfort and a better travel experience. We will continue to maintain this achievement through improved service and operational reliability,’ he concluded.
