Semarang — PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 4 Semarang has recorded at least 109,061 train passengers arriving in its operational area since the 2026 Eid holiday transport season began on Wednesday, 11 March, through Sunday at 09:00 WIB.

Luqman Arif, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 4 Semarang, explained in Semarang on Sunday that the 2026 Eid holiday transport season officially runs from 11 March to 1 April 2026.

Meanwhile, the number of train passengers departing from stations in the Daop 4 area during the same period was recorded at 98,043.

According to him, this figure includes passenger data for Sunday, which reached 48,556 passengers using trains in the Daop 4 Semarang area, comprising 21,634 boarding passengers and 26,922 alighting passengers.

“The latest data was collected at 09:00 and will continue to increase,” he said.

He noted that four stations recorded the highest passenger numbers: Semarang Tawang Station with 6,766 boarding passengers and 7,530 alighting passengers.

At Semarang Poncol Station, 7,551 passengers boarded and 3,738 alighted. Pekalongan Station recorded 1,591 boarding passengers and 3,160 alighting passengers, whilst Tegal Station had 1,737 boarding passengers and 4,453 alighting passengers.

“Passengers are predominantly travelling to Jakarta, Surabaya, Solo, and Purwokerto. The popular long-distance trains departing from Daop 4 are the Ambarawa Express, Tawangjaya, Menoreh, and Gunungjati trains,” he explained.

For those travelling by train, tickets can be booked through all official KAI ticket sales channels, including the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, and other official sales partners, he added.

During the 2026 Eid transport season, KAI Daop 4 Semarang operates 36 long-distance trains daily, comprising 34 regular service trains and 2 additional long-distance trains.

“The total number of seats provided per day is 21,128,” he said.
