KAI Daop 3 Records 63,475 Passengers During Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Holiday
A total of 63,475 customers used railway services during the long holiday period for the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in 2026.
“There was an increase in public mobility using rail transport during the long holiday for the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday 2026 last weekend,” said Muhibbuddin, Public Relations Manager of Operational Area 3 Cirebon, on Thursday (27/8).
He explained that the passenger figure comprised 30,575 customers arriving in the Daop 3 Cirebon area and 32,900 customers departing from the Daop 3 Cirebon area.
The peak of customer arrivals occurred on 22 August 2026, with a total of 6,285 customers. Meanwhile, the peak of departures occurred on 25 August 2026, with a total of 7,053 customers.
“The high level of public interest shows that the railway is increasingly trusted by the public as a transport option for travel, including long-distance journeys,” he stressed.
To accommodate the high level of public interest, KAI Daop 3 Cirebon operated eight train services and one additional train service during the long holiday period for the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday 2026.
“The operation of this additional train is part of KAI’s efforts to anticipate the increase in travel demand. We want to ensure the public has more travel options while being able to travel safely, comfortably and smoothly during the long holiday momentum,” explained Muhibbuddin.
He said that KAI Daop 3 Cirebon appreciates the public who have chosen the railway as a mode of transport during the long holiday.
