PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 2 Bandung has prepared 60,717 long-distance train seats to welcome the extended weekend holiday. The thousands of seats are available across 24 regular departures from various stations in the Daop 2 Bandung region during the long holiday for the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, which runs from Friday (21/8) to Tuesday (25/8).

KAI Daop 2 Bandung Public Relations Manager Kuswardojo explained that the company continues to prioritise safety, security, comfort, and punctuality in train travel. These remain the main priorities in providing service to passengers.

“We have carried out thorough preparations. The safety of rail service users and all train journeys is our commitment and main priority that we continue to uphold,” he said in Bandung on Thursday (20/8).

He explained that these anticipatory measures begin with intensive inspection and checking of all railway facilities and infrastructure. The checks cover the condition of rail tracks along the route, the reliability of train sets, and the readiness of service facilities in station areas.

In addition to infrastructure readiness, KAI Daop 2 Bandung has also placed all personnel in various sectors on standby to ensure smooth journeys and that minimum service standards are properly maintained.

“All KAI Daop 2 Bandung officers are ready to provide the best service to customers. We ensure the readiness of personnel, facilities, infrastructure, and supporting amenities so that train operations run smoothly and provide a safe and memorable travel experience for the public,” he stated.

Given the high public interest in using rail transport during the long holiday period, he urged prospective passengers to plan their journeys as early as possible. The public is also reminded to purchase tickets through official channels to avoid potential fraud or administrative issues.

Prospective passengers are also asked to re-check their travel details, from departure schedules to destination stations.

“We urge the public to plan their journeys carefully and purchase tickets through KAI’s official channels. With our operational readiness and good planning from customers, we are optimistic that travel during this Prophet Muhammad’s birthday long holiday can proceed safely, comfortably, smoothly, and on time,” he concluded.
