KAI Daop 2 Bandung Closes 38 Unguarded Level Crossings

PT Kereta Api Indonesia Daerah Operasi (KAI Daop) 2 Bandung has closed 38 unguarded level crossings during 2025 and the early part of 2026. This comprises 29 level crossings closed in 2025 and nine level crossings closed in the early part of 2026. “In 2025, KAI Daop 2 Bandung has closed 29 unguarded level crossings as a concrete step to minimise the potential for accidents on railway lines,” stated Manager of Public Relations for PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Meanwhile, in 2026 up to April, he mentioned that nine level crossings have been closed. The closures were carried out in collaboration with local governments and other stakeholders. He said the level crossings that have been closed are located in Cianjur Regency, Purwakarta Regency, West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, Tasikmalaya Regency, Garut Regency, Ciamis Regency, Karawang Regency, and Sukabumi Regency.
