PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta recorded today as the peak of the return flow of train passengers during the long weekend holiday marking the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, with a total of 37,964 passengers arriving in Daop 1 Jakarta.

“On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the arrival volume reached 37,964 customers and was the highest during the Maulid Nabi long holiday period of 21-25 August 2026,” said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Of the total arrivals, Gambir Station was the station with the highest volume at 13,356 passengers, followed by Pasar Senen Station with 12,936 arrivals, Bekasi Station receiving 4,964 passengers, Jatinegara Station with 3,985 passengers, Cikarang Station with 1,375 arrivals, Karawang Station receiving 702 passengers, and Cikampek Station with 646 passengers.

“Thus, at least 62,494 customers travelled either departing or arriving in the Daop 1 Jakarta area on Tuesday,” said Franoto.

During the long weekend holiday period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provided 196,870 long-distance train seats with a temporary occupancy rate of around 78 percent.

A number of cities that were favourite destinations for customers included Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Jember.

Meanwhile, for the Pangrango train, KAI provided 18,400 seats during the 21-25 August period with bookings reaching 18,163 tickets.

Specifically for departures on Tuesday, the Pangrango train served 3,374 passengers with an occupancy rate reaching 91 percent; while the Siliwangi train provided 9,540 seats in the same period with bookings totalling 5,646 tickets.

A total of 1,021 passengers used the Siliwangi train with an occupancy rate of around 53 percent.

The high usage of the Pangrango train, according to Franoto, shows that trains remain one of the public’s choices for travelling to the Bogor, Sukabumi, and surrounding areas during the long weekend holiday.

During the 21-25 August 2026 period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta recorded 47,543 local train passenger movements, consisting of 23,809 departing passengers and 23,734 arriving passengers.

Sukabumi Station was the station with the highest local train movement at 22,504 passengers, consisting of 11,398 departing passengers and 11,106 arriving passengers.

“We would like to thank all customers who have entrusted their journeys during the Maulid Nabi long holiday to the railway. KAI will continue to maintain the safety, security, comfort, and smoothness of customer journeys,” said Franoto.
