KAI Daop 1 Repairs Rail Track at JPL 14 Bukit Duri, Road Users Advised to Avoid the Area
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta is carrying out repairs on the geometry of the rail track at the level crossing of JPL 14 on Jalan Bukit Duri Puteran in South Jakarta. Road users are advised to avoid the area temporarily to anticipate traffic congestion during the repair work.
Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday that the work is part of a programme to improve the safety and reliability of railway infrastructure, ensuring that the condition of the rail track remains safe and optimal for train operations.
The work includes adjusting the elevation of the road surface around the tracks, levelling the road contour, and improving the construction in the crossing area.
“With the adjustments to the construction and road elevation, it is hoped that the condition of the track will be safer, more comfortable, and will not cause disruption to vehicles passing through,” said Franoto.
During the repair process, the condition of the crossing is still in the compaction stage, so some areas have not yet been asphalted. In addition, there are still work materials around the site that could potentially slow down traffic flow.
Franoto said that the asphalting of the crossing area will be carried out on 18 May 2026, as the final stage of completing the repair work on the rail track geometry.
Therefore, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta advises the public to be more careful when passing through the work site, obey temporary signs and directions from officers on the ground.
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also advises road users to use alternative routes temporarily if possible to avoid traffic congestion around JPL 14 and support the smooth progress of the repair work.
“We advise the public to temporarily avoid the area of JPL 14 and use other alternative routes so that people’s journeys remain smooth and the repair work can be carried out optimally and on time,” said Franoto.
