PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta is urging the public to plan their journeys and book tickets early, following high demand during the 2026 Lebaran mudik period that has left several favourite dates nearly fully occupied. Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that the public still has opportunities to obtain tickets, particularly for the period after Lebaran, where availability is relatively more relaxed. “We invite the public to take advantage of ticket availability in the post-Lebaran period as well as ongoing promotions,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday. To support public mobility, KAI is offering a 30 per cent discount on fares for commercial economy class trains from 14 to 29 March 2026. Nationally, 1.2 million seats are available under this programme. In the Daop 1 Jakarta region, 329,000 economy class seats are available, with around 49,000 seats remaining.
