KAI Daop 1 Jakarta: 103,000 Seats Still Available for 2026 Eid al-Fitr Travel

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta reports that 103,000 seats remain available for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr travel period, departing from Jakarta between March 11th and 20th.

However, to date, 532,000 tickets have been sold for travel between March 11th and April 1st from Gambir and Pasar Senen stations.

“We encourage the public to plan their trips and take advantage of the remaining tickets. Don’t wait until closer to the departure date because sales are constantly dynamic,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta, Wednesday (2/25).

KAI Jakarta operates 86 long-distance train journeys per day during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr transportation period, consisting of 68 regular trains, 12 additional trains from Gambir Station, and 6 additional trains from Pasar Senen Station.

The most popular trains departing from Gambir Station include trains 6 Argo Semeru, 8 Bima, 118 Gunungjati, 7006 Batavia, 124 Cakrabuana, and 32 Pandalungan.

Meanwhile, from Pasar Senen Station, the popular trains are 282 Bengawan, 272 Airlangga, 284 & 288 Serayu, 254 Kertajaya, 252 Jayakarta, and 258 Progo.

The most popular destinations for Eid al-Fitr travel include Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Bandung, Jember, and Purwokerto.

Franoto said that the government is providing economic stimulus in the form of a 30 percent discount for Commercial Economy trains, which will be valid from March 14-29, 2026, to help people get safe, comfortable, timely, and affordable transportation during the Eid al-Fitr period.

Specifically for the Daop 1 Jakarta area, the total number of seats for long-distance Commercial Economy trains (March 14-29) is 329,000 seats.

“A total of 226,000 seats have been sold/booked. For the Pangrango Commercial Economy local train during the same period, 46,000 seats are available,” said Franoto. (Ant/P-3)
