Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta has assured that services for passengers will continue to run optimally amid the high mobility of the public during the Lebaran return flow period up to Saturday, 28 March 2026.

“So far, it’s smooth, with no significant obstacles,” said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta’s Public Relations Officer Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta on Saturday.

He stated that until 09:00 WIB on Saturday, 28 March 2026, the volume of long-distance train passengers arriving in the Daop 1 Jakarta region still dominated over departures.

Based on preliminary data on 28 March 2026, Franoto mentioned that 52,961 passengers had arrived, while 28,280 passengers were recorded departing from the Daop 1 Jakarta region.

This trend, he said, indicates that the Lebaran return flow is still ongoing and that public movement towards Jakarta and its surroundings remains high.

“We ensure that all train journeys run smoothly with maintained punctuality,” he said.

Amid the high volume of arriving passengers, he assured that all field personnel remain vigilant in providing the best service to customers.

Cumulatively, during the Lebaran transport period from 11 March to 28 March 2026, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has served 815,703 departing customers and 622,517 arriving customers.

Meanwhile, the number of tickets sold reached 891,098 tickets, or an average occupancy rate of 82 per cent from a total capacity of 1,083,674 seats.

During the Lebaran homecoming period from 11 to 20 March 2026, Franoto recorded 483,389 passenger departures, with the peak homecoming flow on 18 March at 53,576 passengers.

Entering the return flow period since 23 March 2026, the arrival volume has consistently been above 50,000 passengers per day.

This demonstrates the high trust of the public in rail transport as the primary choice for safe, comfortable, and punctual long-distance travel, said Franoto.

The distribution of passenger arrivals on 28 March 2026 was dominated by Pasar Senen Station with 18,788 passengers, followed by Gambir Station with 15,439 passengers, and Bekasi Station with 8,320 passengers.

For departures, Pasar Senen Station was also the highest with 13,832 passengers, followed by Gambir with 9,224 passengers.

Most of the passenger arrivals at KAI Daop 1 Jakarta during the return flow come from popular cities such as Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Jember.
