“Six Commuter Line passengers have been confirmed dead, while 80 others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment,” KAI Vice President of Corporate Communications Anne Purba said in an official statement issued Tuesday morning.

According to KAI, all 240 passengers aboard the long-distance Argo Bromo Anggrek train survived the incident.

Purba assured that all victims of the collision are receiving comprehensive care.

KAI emphasized that medical expenses for the injured and funeral costs for the deceased will be fully covered by insurance and the company.

The victims are being treated at several nearby facilities, including Bekasi Regional Public Hospital, Primaya Hospital, and Bakti Kartini Hospital.

KAI has pledged full support for the families, ensuring the response remains swift and coordinated with all relevant authorities.

Purba explained that the evacuation was a prolonged process as rescuers prioritized the careful extraction of survivors trapped within the wreckage.

“Medical personnel, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and the KAI team are doing everything possible to stabilize and treat the victims,” she asserted.

To assist the public, the company has established an information center at Bekasi Timur Station for families seeking news about passengers.

Purba affirmed that KAI remains focused on the welfare of the victims while working with investigators to handle the aftermath.

“We express our deepest condolences over this incident and offer our sincere apologies to all our passengers,” she remarked.
