PT KAI has conducted a trial run of a KRL train passing through Bekasi Timur Station following the accident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL. The KRL trial was carried out without passengers.
Observations by detikcom at Bekasi Timur Station on Wednesday (29/4/2026) showed the KRL trial taking place at 11.50 WIB. The tested KRL entered track 1 at Bekasi Timur Station from the direction of Bekasi Station towards Cikarang.
During the trial, the KRL stopped on track 1. The KRL did not open its doors, only stopping. Shortly afterwards, at 12.02 WIB, the KRL continued towards Cikarang.
PT KAI’s President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that KRL services at Bekasi Timur Station are planned to reopen this afternoon. Everything will be ensured to operate safely as before.
“Insyaallah, this afternoon we will open our KRL services, the Cikarang Line, which will operate with the same frequency as before,” he said.
Bobby emphasised that passenger safety is KAI’s priority. He does not want to lower the safety standards.
“We also need to emphasise that safety is our priority. We have absolutely no tolerance for violations or lowering safety levels,” he said.
Previously, the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek collided with a stationary KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) evening. The incident began with a taxi getting stuck under the KRL at a crossing not far from Bekasi Timur Station.
The taxi getting stuck under the KRL caused the KRL at Bekasi Station to wait. The KA Argo Bromo Anggrek then arrived and collided from behind.
The train accident resulted in 15 fatalities and dozens of injuries.
