KAI Commuter responds to passenger falling onto tracks at Manggarai Station
Jakarta (ANTARA) - KAI Commuter provided swift assistance to a passenger who fell onto the train tracks at Manggarai Station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5) at 17:10 WIB.
“The passenger had previously disembarked from Commuter Line No. 5132B on the Angke–Cikarang route at platform 4. While walking towards the lift, the passenger suddenly lost balance and fell onto platform 3,” said Manager of Public Relations at KAI Commuter, Leza Arlan, in a statement in Jakarta, Friday.
Leza explained that at that time, security officers at Manggarai Station, who were on duty in the platform area, immediately evacuated the passenger to a safe area.
“Officers on the ground immediately and swiftly evacuated the passenger and took them to the health post to receive initial treatment with officers at the station,” he said.
Subsequently, the female passenger was taken to the Manggarai Station Health Post to receive first aid.
After an examination, the passenger complained of pain in the right rib area and was then referred to PGI Cikini Hospital for further medical treatment.
Therefore, KAI Commuter advises all passengers to always be careful when in the station area and pay attention to safety, especially when walking in the platform area.
“Do not rush, stay focused by not using mobile phones and follow the directions of officers,” he said.
