KAI Commuter continues to strengthen public transportation services by supporting the government’s programme in developing the Commuter Line across Tanah Abang–Rangkasbitung. This effort is carried out alongside plans to increase passenger capacity through the operation of Electric Rail Trains (KRL) with 12 cars or SF12 on that route. “The construction of platforms at stations along the Rangkasbitung route to serve the Commuter Line SF12 has also been carried out,” said Karina in her statement on Saturday (11/4/2026). According to Dudy, using longer train sets will enable an increase in the number of passengers per trip. Currently, the number of KRL cars on the Tanah Abang–Rangkasbitung route ranges from 8 to 10 cars. In the future, all train sets are targeted to increase to 12 cars.
