Jakarta — PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Commuter has ensured the readiness of transport services for the 2026 Eid holiday season across the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) region and surrounding areas.

Karina Amanda, Vice President Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, stated that during this year’s Eid transport period, KAI Commuter will operate 1,149 daily services in the Jabodetabek and Merak areas, including services to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“KAI Commuter is providing transport capacity for 50,244,436 passengers, or four per cent more capacity than last year,” Karina said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

For Jabodetabek Commuter Line services, 1,065 daily journeys will be operated. With a total transport capacity reaching 47,059,996, approximately 18,972,445 passengers are predicted to use the Jabodetabek Commuter Line.

“This figure represents a one per cent increase from passenger usage during last year’s Eid transport period,” Karina stated.

Beyond Jabodetabek, KAI Commuter is also optimising Basoetta Commuter Line and Merak Commuter Line services. Daily, 70 Basoetta Commuter Line journeys are available with a total transport capacity of 415,616, with 145,963 passengers projected to travel to the airport for the homecoming exodus.

KAI Commuter has also added supporting facilities, including portable toilets at Bogor and Pasar Minggu stations, as well as waiting tents at Bekasi, Bogor, Tangerang, Rangkasbitung, and Cilegon stations.

For the Merak Commuter Line, which is integrated with Jabodetabek, KAI Commuter will operate 14 daily journeys and provide transport capacity for 412,352 passengers, with projected ridership on this line reaching 299,259 passengers, or a one per cent increase from last year.

Starting 13-20 March 2026, KAI Commuter will adjust services, with Merak Commuter Line journeys only reaching Cilegon Station. Passengers destined for Merak Station will be redirected to use alternative transport at Cilegon Station.

This service adjustment, also implemented in previous years, is undertaken to manage vehicle traffic that will cross through Merak and Bakauheni Ferry Ports, particularly during peak travel conditions for the 2026 Eid transport period.

Currently, several Commuter Line stations have been integrated with various transport modes, including MRT, LRT Jabodetabek, TransJakarta buses, and online transportation services. Passengers can also utilise the Multi Trip Card (KMT) for payment transactions across all these transport modes.

“KAI Commuter urges all passengers to always follow regulations during travel, supervise children, follow staff instructions, and remain vigilant for the safety of all,” Karina concluded.
