KAI Commuter Adds Four Yogyakarta-Palur Trips During School Holidays

KAI Commuter Area 6 Yogyakarta has added four Commuter Line trips to anticipate a surge in passengers during the school holiday period, which runs from 20 June to 5 July 2026. KAI Commuter President Director Purnomo Sidi stated in Yogyakarta on Thursday (2/7/2026) that 360,628 passengers were recorded using the service between 20 June and 1 July 2026. The total number of users for the entire holiday period up to 5 July is projected to exceed 542,000. To address this increase, KAI Commuter has added four trips on the Yogyakarta-Palur route from 20 June to 5 July 2026, bringing the total number of daily trips on this route to 31. The Prameks Commuter Line schedule continues to operate normally with 10 trips per day. Yogyakarta Station remains one of the busiest points during the holiday period, with daily passenger volumes reaching between 9,000 and 10,000. Passengers are encouraged to use Lempuyangan Station to avoid overcrowding at Yogyakarta Station.
