Jakarta (ANTARA) - KAI’s Public Relations Manager for Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that KAI is committed to maintaining the quality of service to customers effectively. “We are always committed to maintaining the quality of service to customers effectively, punctuality, and the safety of train journeys,” said Franoto to ANTARA when responding to questions regarding the satisfaction of umrah participants who used trains to return to their hometowns after completing umrah in Saudi Arabia in Jakarta on Sunday. It is known that the group of umrah participants arriving in Jakarta from Jeddah on Sunday used train transportation to return to Purwokerto. One passenger named Rahita Utama said that she and her travel group would return to Purwokerto with a departure schedule at 13:30. She said that she had just arrived in Jakarta after completing umrah in Saudi Arabia on 21 March, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. “Departing from Purwokerto, taking the train on the 20th, arriving at the airport. Saturday morning (21 March) directly flying to Jeddah,” said Rahita, adding that the train ticket was included in the umrah travel package she took. She said that her journey was smooth and without any issues, allowing her to focus on performing umrah. According to KAI data from 23-29 March, the number of departing passengers for Daop 1 Jakarta was 284,843, while arrivals in the same period reached 370,559. Passenger arrival data for Daop 1 in that period consistently showed figures above 50,000. Meanwhile, on 29 March at Gambir Station, the number of departing passengers reached 10,066 and arrivals reached 15,689. According to KAI, during the return flow period, passengers arriving at Daop 1 Jakarta stations mostly came from cities in Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, and West Java, such as Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Jember, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Malang.
