KAI CEO Reiterates Apology, Focuses on Assisting Victims and Families
VIVA – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) CEO, Bobby Rasyidin, has once again expressed his apology in writing on his Instagram account. This apology pertains to the accident incident between the KRL Commuter Line and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek at Bekasi Timur Station last Monday. “Once again, I extend my deepest condolences and the greatest apologies to our customers, the victims, and their families for the incident at Bekasi Timur Station. We also apologise to our loyal KAI customers for the disruption to train services during the evacuation process,” stated Bobby in his post, quoted on Friday, 1 May 2026. In the post, Bobby also welcomed the support given to PT KAI. He described the support from the public as a strength for PT KAI to continue standing and moving forward. “Amid the grief over the incident, we see much concern, support, prayers, and trust still given to us. In this difficult time, that concern becomes our strength to continue standing and moving forward,” continued Bobby’s official statement. The KAI CEO also mentioned that he and his entire team are currently focused on assisting the victims and their families. Additionally, he stated that PT KAI will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to improve railway safety in the future. “At this time, I and the team are focused on assisting the victims and families, maintaining train operational safety, and conducting a thorough evaluation, both internal and external, so that future railway safety is better. Bobby Rasyidin, KAI CEO,” read his official caption. The post was immediately flooded with thousands of supportive comments from Indonesians. This is especially so given the recent calls from members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for Bobby to step down following the accident at Bekasi Timur Station. “THANK YOU SIR! Don’t ever resign just because pressured by certain parties, sir. In my opinion, KAI is the most green-flag SOE. From service to KAI employees, everything is great! Keep going, sir, I’ve never been this fond of transport lol. Sorry for being cheesy, but it’s real,” commented a netizen.
