Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) President Director Bobby Rasyidin has affirmed that the construction of vertical housing in the Manggarai area, utilising company assets, supports the government’s programme to provide three million homes for the people.

“This is not merely the start of physical work. This momentum is an affirmation that strategic railway assets can be optimised responsibly to provide broader benefits to the community,” Bobby said at the Groundbreaking of Affordable Housing in Manggarai, Jakarta, on Friday.

The groundbreaking of the Manggarai housing project has officially commenced as KAI’s step to optimise strategic railway assets to provide decent, affordable, and sustainable housing for low-income communities based on Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

Bobby said the housing development is proof that KAI’s strategic assets can be utilised responsibly to provide broad benefits to the community.

In implementing the Manggarai housing development, KAI applies three main principles: decent, affordable, and sustainable housing in accordance with government policy.
