KAI Boss Responds to Allegations of Signal Error Before KA Argo Bromo-KRL Collision
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero)’s President Director Bobby Rasyidin has responded to allegations of a signal error before KA Argo Bromo Anggrek collided with a KRL Commuter Line train at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (26/4/2026). The news about the signal error has been widely discussed on social media due to a video confession from the assistant driver of KA Argo Bromo Anggrek. Bobby stressed that his side will wait for the results of the investigation by the National Transportation Safety Committee. “Of course, as I have stated, we fully support what is being and will be done by the KNKT, and we will certainly comply with and follow all recommendations from the KNKT,” Bobby asserted at Bekasi Timur Station. On that occasion, Bobby also confirmed that KAI will conduct a thorough operational evaluation. Moreover, they will intensively communicate with the regulator, namely the Ministry of Transportation, and external parties such as the KNKT to gather input so that similar incidents do not occur again in the future. “We have conducted external and internal evaluations. Internally, how to improve and ensure issues in operational aspects of safety as well as coordination with external evaluations with regulators and related parties,” he said. “And we support the investigation process carried out by the KNKT, which will officially announce the causes and recommendations from the accident that occurred,” he explained.
