KAI Bandung urges passengers not to wear football club insignia linked to Persib match
Passengers are advised not to wear football club insignia or equipment associated with clubs while inside station areas or on trains, in order to keep travel conditions calm and comfortable for all service users. Bandung (ANTARA) – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Regional Operation Division) (Daop) 2 Bandung urges travellers not to wear insignia or gear related to football clubs while in station areas or on trains. The advisory coincides with a push for KA passengers to arrive earlier at departure stations on 23 and 24 May 2026 to anticipate the risk of missing trains due to possible traffic paralysis ahead of the Persib Bandung vs Persijap Jepara final at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium on Saturday (23/5) and a potential convoy on Sunday (24/5). “We invite all passengers to help maintain security, order and comfort while at the station environment and during train journeys. Therefore, passengers are asked not to use football club insignia from respective clubs to keep the journey atmosphere conducive and comfortable for all service users,” said Kuswardojo, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, in Bandung, on Friday. Kuswardojo explained that the advisory on football club identities is taken as a preventive measure to minimise psychological frictions in the mass transit public space and to guarantee passenger comfort. On the other hand, the mass movement of supporters toward the city centre and GBLA vicinity is predicted to cause severe congestion on several major roads. This is expected to hinder travel times for prospective passengers seeking access to Bandung Station, Kiaracondong Station, or other secondary stations in Daop 2 such as Cimekar near GBLA. “KAI Daop 2 Bandung urges all rail service users to arrive earlier at the stations, especially on 23 and 24 May 2026. The Persib vs Persijap match at GBLA is anticipated to increase traffic density on several roads toward the stations and city centre,” Kuswardojo said. KAI Daop 2 Bandung confirms long-distance train services will continue to operate normally in line with the timetable, prioritising punctuality. Therefore, railway management is intensifying close coordination with internal security and local authorities to anticipate crowding at station entrances over the coming weekend. “We hope all passengers plan their journeys well and arrive earlier so that travel remains smooth and they do not miss trains,” Kuswardojo added.
