Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Railink, as the operator of KAI Bandara, served 155,212 passengers through the KA Srilelawangsa service in North Sumatra during the Lebaran 1447 Hijriah transport period from 11 to 23 March 2026. “During the period from 11 to 13 March 2026, KAI Bandara served a total of 155,212 passengers via the KA Srilelawangsa service in North Sumatra,” said KAI Bandara President Director Porwanto Handry Nugroho in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. He noted that the Medan to Kualanamu Airport route carried 63,000 passengers, while the Medan to Binjai and up to Kuala Bingai route carried more than 92,000 passengers. According to him, this increase in passenger numbers demonstrates the high level of public trust in the airport train transport mode, which prioritises punctuality, comfort, and ease of access to the airport. Furthermore, he stated that the high passenger volume during the Lebaran transport period serves as a positive indicator of public trust in KAI Bandara services, particularly KA Srilelawangsa in North Sumatra. “We continue to strive to maintain service quality, both in terms of operations, safety, and customer comfort,” he said. He added that as a form of appreciation to customers and to enliven the Idul Fitri holiday moment, KAI Bandara has introduced a special THR (Tiket Hemat Raya) programme offering discounts of up to 20 percent for airport train journeys. This applies to the period from 20 to 30 March 2026 using the THR promo code. Ticket purchases with this promotion can only be made through the KAI Bandara App, reservation.railink.co.id, and vending machines located in the KAI Bandara station areas. KAI Bandara also urges all passengers to always safeguard their personal belongings, arrive early at the station, and utilise digital ticketing services so that travel during the Lebaran transport period can proceed smoothly and comfortably.
