KAI Apologises After Argo Bromo Train Collides with KRL in East Bekasi: We Offer Our Deepest Condolences

BEKASI, KOMPAS.com - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has expressed apologies for the train accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek and the Bekasi-Jakarta electric rail (KRL) at Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City on Monday (27/4/2026) night. “So tonight there was a train accident at Bekasi Timur Station. We from KAI Daop 1 Jakarta convey our apologies and the greatest, deepest condolences,” stated Manager of Public Relations for DAOP 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, during the Kompas TV Breaking News broadcast on Monday. Franoto said that they are ensuring the evacuation of the victims from the incident. “For the victims, we are trying to evacuate them to the nearest hospital. It is recorded that at the hospital there are two victims who have passed away; once again, we from DAOP 1 Jakarta apologise and offer our greatest condolences,” Franoto remarked. Previously reported, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the Bekasi-Jakarta electric rail (KRL) were involved in an accident at Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City on Monday (27/4/2026) night. Based on Kompas.com’s monitoring at the location, at 21.51 WIB, several KRL passengers were evacuated by firefighters and rescue personnel to ambulances. Ambulances were already present near the parking area of Bekasi Timur Station. Victims with injuries were seen being carried on stretchers by personnel. Police officers were observed guarding the location to manage traffic and passenger evacuation. VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter (KCI), Karina Amanda, stated that they are currently handling the situation at the site. “At this time, we are still managing the conditions at the location,” Karina said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Monday night. Karina added that PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) will issue a release regarding the incident.
