KAI Adjusts LRT Jabodebek Morning Schedule, Distributing Peak-Hour Passengers More Evenly

Jakarta (ANTARA) - An operational evaluation by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) shows that passenger density on several LRT Jabodebek trips during morning peak hours has begun to decrease following the implementation of schedule adjustments since 15 June 2026. The adjustment was achieved by reallocating some evening trips to the morning period without increasing the total number of daily trips.

Operational adjustments continue to prioritise safety and operational reliability, maintaining a total of 430 trips every working day. The adjustment was made by shifting some trips that previously operated in the evening to the morning peak hours, when public demand is at its highest.

The additional frequency trip at 07:26 WIB on the Harjamukti–Dukuh Atas route now serves an average of approximately 740 passengers every working day, while the 07:11 WIB trip on the Jatimulya–Dukuh Atas route is utilised by around 480 passengers. The introduction of these two additional frequency trips has successfully distributed over 1,200 passengers across two departures, ensuring that the passenger load on previously concentrated trips is more evenly spread, providing commuters with alternative departure options during periods of highest demand.

Radhitya Mardika, Manager of Public Relations for LRT Jabodebek, stated that the operational adjustment is the result of an evaluation of evolving passenger mobility patterns. Given the dynamic public need for public transport, KAI is adjusting LRT Jabodebek’s operational schedules to ensure service capacity is available when it is most needed.
