Jakarta (ANTARA) - An operational evaluation by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) indicates that passenger density on certain LRT Jabodebek services during the morning peak has begun to decrease following an operational schedule adjustment implemented on 15 June 2026. The adjustment was made by shifting some evening services to the morning without increasing the total number of daily trips. The operational adjustment continues to prioritise safety and operational reliability, while still operating 430 trips every working day. The change was made by reallocating a portion of trips that previously operated at night to the morning peak, when public demand is at its highest. The additional frequency trip at 07:26 WIB for the Harjamukti–Dukuh Atas route now serves an average of around 740 passengers per working day, whilst the 07:11 WIB trip for the Jatimulya–Dukuh Atas route is utilised by approximately 480 passengers. The presence of these two trips has successfully distributed over 1,200 passengers across the two additional departures, thereby levelling the load on trips that were previously concentration points and providing users with alternative departures during the period of highest demand. LRT Jabodebek Manager of Public Relations, Radhitya Mardika, stated that the operational adjustment is the result of an evaluation of evolving passenger mobility patterns. With the public’s dynamic need for public transportation, KAI has adjusted LRT Jabodebek trip operations so that service capacity is available at the times it is needed. ‘This schedule adjustment is one of KAI’s efforts to distribute passengers more evenly, so that morning peak hour journeys become more comfortable without reducing the number of trips we operate each day,’ he said. In addition to adjusting schedules, KAI also continuously monitors occupancy levels for every trip through its operational control centre. The monitoring results serve as the basis for making various service improvements so that LRT Jabodebek operations become increasingly adaptive to public mobility patterns. KAI is committed to continuously making service improvisations through ongoing passenger service evaluations. With adjustments based on passenger needs, LRT Jabodebek is expected to continue providing public transport services that are safe, comfortable, and reliable, as well as increasingly supportive of public mobility in the Greater Jakarta area.
