KAI Accelerates Handling of Landslide on Maswati–Sasaksaat Route, Targets Completion in 5 Hours
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, is acting quickly to handle the landslide incident that occurred on the Maswati–Sasaksaat line in the Bandung area, West Java. This effort is being undertaken to ensure that train services can resume normally as soon as possible.
The company states that the current handling process is focused on clearing the landslide material blocking the track and evacuating the affected train consist.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, explained that all relevant parties have been involved to accelerate the process.
“We are handling this quickly by involving all relevant parties. Based on the field estimate, this process is projected to be completed in approximately five hours from 4:30 PM WIB,” said Anne in her statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4).
The landslide at KM 142+8/9 caused operational disruptions to train services, including KA 174 Ciremai and several other trips on that line.
“KAI is making travel arrangements as part of efforts to maintain safety and service smoothness,” she said.
During the handling process, KAI continues to coordinate across units and with related agencies to ensure all stages proceed safely and under control.
KAI also extends apologies to customers for the inconvenience caused by this disruption.
