KAI Accelerates Handling of Landslide on Maswati–Sasaksaat Route
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has confirmed that it is accelerating the handling of a landslide that occurred on the rail route in the Bandung area, West Java, specifically between Maswati Station and Sasaksaat Station. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that the current efforts at the site are focused on speeding up the clearance of the track and the evacuation of affected equipment to restore normal train operations as soon as possible. “We are carrying out the handling quickly by involving all relevant parties. Based on the on-site estimate, this process is projected to be completed in approximately five hours from 4:30 PM WIB,” said Anne in her statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. She explained that the landslide material blocking the track at KM 142+8/9 has caused operational disruptions to the KA 174 Ciremai and several other trains on that route. “KAI is implementing journey adjustments as part of efforts to maintain safety and service smoothness,” she added. As the handling process continues, Anne noted that KAI is maintaining coordination across units and related agencies to ensure every stage proceeds safely and under control. KAI extends its apologies for the inconvenience caused. For the latest information on train journeys, including delays or cancellations, customers can contact KAI’s customer service via the Contact Center at 121, WhatsApp at 0811-2223-3121, or email at cs@kai.id. “Safety remains our top priority, and all handling processes are conducted quickly and measurably to restore normal train operations as soon as possible,” said Anne.
