KAI Accelerates Final Phase of JIS Station, Targeted to Operate in June 2026
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is continuing to accelerate the final phase of the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station. This strategic project is the result of close collaboration between KAI, the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to expand accessibility and provide more efficient transport solutions to the northern Jakarta area. The presence of the JIS Station is projected to bring significant benefits to the community. In addition to providing direct access to sports and residential areas, the station is expected to be an effective solution in reducing traffic congestion in the capital. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, explained that the operation of the JIS Station will further strengthen services on the Tanjung Priok line. This aligns with the consistent growth trend in the volume of KRL users on that route. βThe significant growth in the number of KRL service users proves that rail services are increasingly becoming the primary choice. KAI, together with DJKA of the Ministry of Transportation, KAI Commuter, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, continues to synergise to ensure that the construction of the JIS Station becomes the answer to the need for better intermodal integration in Jakarta,β said Anne. To support the increase in operational capacity, KAI together with DJKA of the Ministry of Transportation is also carrying out comprehensive infrastructure strengthening. The reliability of services on the northern line is now increasingly optimal for customers thanks to two main programmes.
