PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, is accelerating the development of platforms 6, 7, and 8 at Bogor Station in West Java to accommodate 12-car Commuter Line trains (SF12). KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that progress on the works, which began on 15 April 2026, is ahead of schedule. The Bogor Station platform development is targeted for completion in July 2026. Bobby explained that the platform development is to support the operation of 12-car Commuter Line trains (SF12), which have a higher passenger capacity per trip. Operating 12 carriages per trip will enable more optimal passenger distribution, especially during peak hours. “This acceleration is good news as service capacity can be promptly enhanced to meet the growing mobility needs of Bogor Line commuters,” he said. KAI noted that over the past three years, Bogor Line passenger volume increased by approximately 52.9 million, a 51.9 per cent rise. With rising passenger numbers, demand for greater service capacity has continued to grow, both during journeys and at key service hubs such as stations. The high passenger numbers coincide with the Commuter Line’s extensive service frequency. “The Bogor Line is the busiest corridor in the Jabodetabek Commuter Line network. Therefore, capacity and service quality improvements will be implemented progressively,” Anne said. Anne added that besides boosting service capacity, the development also strengthens Bogor Station’s role as an integration hub connecting urban mobility with travel to southern West Java. From Bogor Station, passengers can now continue their journey to Sukabumi via Bogor Paledang Station, connected by an inter-station skybridge.
