Kaesang Visits Islamic Boarding School in Kediri, Receives Special Prayer from Chair of East Java MUI
Kediri – The Ramadan outreach tour by the General Chairman of the PSI Party’s Central Board (DPP) continues. This time, Kaesang Pangarep visited the Al-Amien Islamic Boarding School in Ngasinan, Kediri, East Java.
The youngest son of Indonesia’s seventh president arrived alongside members of the PSI’s central leadership and was welcomed directly by the pesantren’s leader, Anwar Iskandar, at his residence. The meeting atmosphere was warm and filled with familiarity.
Beyond mere courtesy calls, Kaesang and his delegation also engaged in relaxed dialogue with the pesantren’s leadership. They even shared a meal together in an atmosphere of familial closeness. Also present were Ahmad Ali, Daily Chair of the PSI’s Central Board, and East Java PSI leadership.
An amusing moment occurred when Kaesang was served yellow rice. With his characteristic casual style, he joked, “It’s like I’m celebrating a birthday,” as quoted on Monday, 2 March 2026.
The quip was met with warm laughter from those present. However, beneath the relaxed atmosphere lay prayers and hopes for the party now led by Kaesang.
“Mas Kaesang, I pray for PSI’s everlasting success,” said KH. Anwar Iskandar, who also serves as Chair of the East Java Muslim Council (MUI).
This Ramadan outreach tour is part of PSI’s routine agenda to strengthen relationships with Islamic boarding school circles and religious figures across various regions. The activity is described as more than a formal visit, serving as a space for exchanging ideas and absorbing counsel.
According to Ahmad Ali, the Ramadan period is an opportune time to strengthen communication with Islamic scholars and pesantren leaders.
“We gather, exchange stories, and seek advice from the learned ulama,” Ahmad Ali stated.
