Kaesang Urges Young PSI Cadres to Learn from Senior Members
Lombok, VIVA – Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, stressed the importance of young PSI cadres learning directly from senior members who have extensive experience in politics, particularly those who have served in the legislature.
He made this statement while attending the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorwil) and the installation of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Board (DPW) officials in Lombok on Saturday, 2 May 2026. This agenda also serves as part of the party’s ongoing consolidation at the regional level.
“We have many seniors here now who have joined PSI, many who have served three or four terms in the DPRD. Friends must be able to absorb knowledge from them,” Kaesang said.
“If friends indeed intend to become assembly members as well, learn from those who are experienced,” he continued.
The event was attended by PSI’s Central Executive Board officials as well as party leaders at the regional level. In addition to the installation of the DPW officials, the event also included the simultaneous installation of all District Board (DPD) officials across NTB.
On the other hand, the Chairman of PSI’s NTB Provincial Board, Lalu Budi Suryata, assured that the party’s organisational structure in the region has been fulfilled in accordance with the party’s internal regulations.
“We have met the percentage requirements for establishing the structure as stipulated in our party’s articles of association and bylaws, namely 100 percent for the Provincial Board, 100 percent for the District Boards, and alhamdulillah 100 percent for the Branch Boards,” said Lalu Budi Suryata.
Furthermore, this Rakorwil also serves as a strategic forum for formulating the party’s future policy directions, both at the provincial level and at the regency/city levels. Internal consolidation is said to continue through the implementation of Regional Work Meetings (Rakerda) in 10 regencies/cities across NTB.
According to Lalu Budi, PSI’s main target in NTB is to ensure the party’s representation in legislative institutions, both at the regency/city and provincial levels.
With increasingly massive consolidation, PSI hopes to strengthen its political position in NTB while increasing its seat gains in the DPRD in upcoming contests.
