Kaesang Pangarep, chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), received a unique gift in the form of a kite during a Ramadan visit to Kebumen, Central Java, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The souvenir was presented by Al Falah Islamic Pesantren, led by Gus Ulvi Musyaffa, when Kaesang and a PSI delegation visited the pesantren.

The kite featured a red background with a silhouette of Kaesang’s face. The gift immediately captured the attention of guests and students present at the Ramadan visit event.

During the gift presentation, Gus Ulvi asked one of the students to explain the philosophy behind giving the kite to Kaesang.

The student noted that the kite was chosen because it represents a game enjoyed by people of all backgrounds.

“The philosophy of this kite is that it is something liked by all segments of society. Whether children, young people, or the elderly, and not just in Indonesia, but abroad as well,” said cultural commentator Rafi Ananda.

“So when flying a kite, everyone is happy. There is no one who flies a kite and is sad, that does not exist,” he continued.

Upon hearing this explanation, Kaesang responded with a joke that immediately drew laughter from the guests and students present.

“I am sad, because one of my kites broke once,” Kaesang said with a laugh.

The joke lightened the atmosphere of the meeting. Several guests present, including PSI Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali and PSI Central Board Political Affairs Head Bestari Barus, laughed along with the students.

At the end of the event, the pesantren also conveyed prayers that Kaesang would be accepted by all segments of Indonesian society in the future, in accordance with the philosophy of the kite that was given.

“Okay, that’s great. It really is excellent, Kaesang, accepted by all Indonesian people,” said the student whilst praying for Kaesang.

“Amen, thank you very much, thank you,” replied Kaesang.
