Kaesang Meets KH Yasin Nawawi at An-Nur Islamic Boarding School in Bantul
Bantul – Kaesang Pangarep, chairman of the Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI), continued his party’s Ramadan safari by visiting An-Nur Islamic Boarding School in Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta.
During the visit, Kaesang was accompanied by Ahmad Ali, daily chairman of the PSI central board, and members of the PSI Yogyakarta regional board. The delegation was welcomed directly by the Islamic boarding school’s leader, KH Yasin Nawawi, together with the school’s students.
In front of the Islamic scholar and attending students, Kaesang stated that his visit with the PSI delegation aimed to seek blessings and prayers so that the party could proceed on the correct path in conducting political activities.
“The reason we have come here is to seek blessings, to pray that we will proceed better, on a straighter path, without deviating. If we do deviate in any way, we are asking for advice from the Kyai,” Kaesang said on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
The youngest son of Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo, also requested special prayers for all PSI cadres who are currently working alongside him to develop the party.
“So that is the situation, Kyai, once again we seek your blessings and prayers for our PSI friends,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Ali, daily chairman of the PSI central board, emphasised that the Ramadan safari activities conducted by his party were not a political consolidation agenda. According to him, the visit was more of a spiritual journey to maintain relationships and draw closer to Islamic scholars.
“Kyai, as the chairman has stated, this journey of ours is a spiritual journey. If I may say so, this is not political consolidation,” he said.
