Kaesang Introduces New PSI Cadre, Who Turns Out to Be DPD RI Member Bustami Zainudin

Bandar Lampung – The General Chairman of the PSI Central Executive Board, Kaesang Pangarep, once again created a surprise during the regional working meeting and the installation of the Lampung Provincial Leadership Board of PSI.

In front of the cadres, Kaesang introduced a new party member who is no ordinary figure. It is Bustami Zainudin, a DPD RI member from Lampung, who has now been officially introduced as a PSI cadre.

“Today, I am introducing the newest cadre from Lampung, namely DPD RI Member Mr Zainudin. PSI is impressive; it now has a DPD RI member,” said Kaesang on Sunday, 19 April 2026.

It did not stop there; Kaesang even gave a strong political signal. He hopes that Bustami will in the future run as a candidate for DPR RI through PSI.

“I hope he can run for DPR RI through PSI later,” said Kaesang.

According to Kaesang, Bustami has shown commitment to helping grow PSI in Lampung. One of them is the plan to directly engage with the community across all regencies and cities.

“He has committed to me to be loyal to PSI, so please collaborate with Mr Bustami. I think he is an open person,” he said.

He also asked all levels of PSI leadership in the regions, especially the regency/city DPC chairmen, not to hesitate to build cooperation with Bustami in strengthening the party’s base.

In addition, Kaesang reminded all cadres to start preparing to face the upcoming political contests, including the 2029 Elections and the party verification stages expected to take place next year.

“I ask all cadres to be ready. We will face the 2029 Elections. Before that, there is party verification, possibly next year. Earlier, we saw in Pesawaran that the DPRT is almost 100 percent formed. Hopefully, this becomes motivation for other PSI DPCs,” he added.
