Probolinggo – Kaesang Pangarep, Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), distributed gold to students at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Qodim in Probolinggo, East Java, on Saturday, 28 February 2026, in the evening.

Rather than delivering a lengthy speech, Kaesang chose to interact with the students through a prize-winning quiz competition.

According to observations at the location, Kaesang opened the event by mentioning that he was not accustomed to giving formal remarks. He then invited the students to participate in a quiz, with prizes of gold for those brave enough to come forward and answer correctly.

In his remarks, Kaesang referenced the practice of his father, Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who frequently distributed bicycles during work visits to various regions.

He explained his reasons for choosing gold as a prize. According to him, the value of bicycles would continue to decline over time, unlike gold which tends to appreciate in value.

“If you consider bicycles over the course of ten years, their value might become zero or even depreciate. But tonight I have brought gold, and the price of gold in the coming years, God willing, will continue to rise. So please keep it safely,” he explained.

The quiz proceeded enthusiastically. Kaesang posed a series of straightforward questions to five students who came forward.

“Name the first President through to the current President,” Kaesang asked.

“Now a geography question. What is the full form of IKN?” Kaesang posed in the next question.

“Do you like Islamic jurisprudence lessons? Right then, the question is mathematics. 3 multiplied by 3, plus 3 multiplied by 3,” said the younger brother of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

One student requested a question relating to artificial intelligence (AI). However, Kaesang responded with a joke.

“There’s no AI question, that’s my brother,” Kaesang quipped with a laugh.
