Pandeglang, VIVA – The General Chairman of the DPP (Central Executive Board) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, began a series of Ramadan visits by calling on one of Banten’s most charismatic religious leaders, Abuya Ahmad Muhtadi Dimyathi, on Thursday afternoon, February 26, 2026.

The visit took place at the Roudlotul Ulum Cidahu Islamic boarding school, Cadasari District, Pandeglang Regency. Kaesang was welcomed directly by Abuya Muhtadi and the students who had been waiting for his arrival.

During the warm meeting, Kaesang conveyed a special message from the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who is also Kaesang’s father.

“I, Kaesang, Pak Kyai. Earlier, while traveling here, Father (Jokowi) called me and asked me to convey his greetings to Pak Kyai,” said Kaesang.

This moment became an interesting part of the first Ramadan visit of PSI this year. Kaesang said he was happy because he was received warmly by the leader of the Islamic boarding school, who is widely known as one of the great and influential religious leaders in Banten Province. The meeting between the two lasted about 30 minutes in a friendly atmosphere.

During the visit, Kaesang was accompanied by the Daily Chairman of the DPP PSI, Ahmad Ali, and a number of other DPP administrators. Their presence is said to be a form of respect for religious teachers and leaders of Islamic boarding schools who have long been considered to have an important role in maintaining moral values in the community.

Ahmad Ali also emphasised that politics is not just about strategy and power. He stressed the importance of mental strength and steadfastness for those involved in politics.

“Politics is only for those who are mentally strong. If not, they will falter. Let us make religious teachers, kyai, and ulama as a source of mental strength, a source of strength for our hearts, a place where we can seek guidance,” said Ahmad Ali.

For PSI, the Ramadan visit is not just an annual ceremonial agenda. The rose-emblem party said that the visit to Islamic boarding schools is a commitment to maintaining the morals of its members so that they continue to adhere to religious values in every political step.

PSI believes that the strength of a party is not only measured by its electability, but also by the moral quality of its members. By using religious values as a compass, PSI is determined to build a polite, ethical politics that sides with the common good, while also ensuring that its members remain humble in victory and steadfast when facing challenges.
