West Papua, VIVA - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) held a Regional Coordination Working Meeting (Rakorwil) combined with the inauguration of PSI District Board Chairmen across West Papua on Monday, 4 May 2026. General Chairman of the PSI Central Board, Kaesang Pangarep, arrived in Manokwari and was welcomed with a local customary procession, including a dance from the Arfak tribe and the donning of traditional attire as a sign of respect. During the event, Kaesang directed the cadres to help monitor the ongoing infrastructure development in West Papua. “I want to ask all the cadres present today to supervise the infrastructure development so that it can continue as in previous periods,” said Kaesang. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the West Papua PSI Provincial Board, Andy Salabai, stated that this Rakorwil serves as a momentum to strengthen the party’s internal consolidation down to the grassroots level. “We encourage all levels to immediately complete the party structure down to the branch level and ensure PSI’s presence in every district and village,” said Andy. He is also optimistic that with the collective efforts of all cadres and officials, PSI West Papua can achieve its political targets in the 2029 Elections. “We target that in 2029, PSI West Papua can achieve victories in seven regencies or cities as well as at the provincial level,” he said.
