Kaesang and PSI Receive Special Message During Visit to Gus Ali in Magelang

The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) continued its Ramadan Safari programme in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java. The central leadership delegation (DPP) visited Darussalam Timur Watucongol Islamic boarding school in Magelang Regency, led by PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep.

Kaesang was accompanied by PSI Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali and several other DPP officials. They met with the boarding school’s leader, KH Agus Ali Qoishor, commonly known as Gus Ali Watucongol.

Ahmad Ali stated that their visit to Darussalam Timur Watucongol aimed to seek advice from Gus Ali, regarded as a charismatic religious scholar. Ahmad Ali noted that he, Kaesang Pangarep and Gus Ali had known each other for quite some time.

“This silaturahmi (fraternal visit) will continue. The Kiai’s message is for us to continue, increase and make more frequent visits to boarding schools,” Ahmad Ali said on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Ahmad Ali also revealed that during this Ramadan Safari, the PSI leadership received a special message from Gus Ali. The religious leader urged PSI to always listen to public aspirations, particularly those of ordinary people.

“Listen to the public’s input, listen to and pay attention to ordinary people,” he stated.

On this occasion, Kaesang also attended with his wife, Erina Sofia Gudono. A warm atmosphere surrounded the PSI delegation’s arrival. The Islamic boarding school students welcomed Kaesang and the delegation upon their arrival at the pesantren grounds.

Subsequently, Kaesang Pangarep and the delegation had a warm conversation with Gus Ali at his residence. Afterwards, Kaesang, Ahmad Ali and the PSI delegation also broke their fast together with the Islamic boarding school community.
