Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, has emphasised the importance of synergy between the government and the business sector in facing the prevailing global uncertainty, including the United States–Israel–Iran conflict. He noted that, although world conditions are not in good shape, unity between the government and the private sector will pave the way to maintaining national economic stability. ‘Of course the world is not in good shape, but it seems that if the government and the business world are united there is a way. But of course we must not be complacent,’ Anindya said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, 3 March. According to Anindya, such collaboration is needed to ensure economic growth remains safeguarded, inflation remains under control, and job creation and the emergence of new entrepreneurs continue to grow. Anindya also sees opportunities amidst the pressures of the global economy. He urged a shift in mindset to be more self-reliant and able to stand on one’s own feet. The business world, he said, is ready to support various government programmes, including social initiatives aimed at mobilising the economy down to the regions. Regarding the potential impact of oil price rises, Anindya stated that the business sector understands that the government has prepared various schemes and mitigation scenarios.
