Kadin Solo Chairman Admits to Handing Over Rp125 Million to Pati Regent in Graft Trial

The Chairman of the Surakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Ferry Septha Indrianto, admitted to handing over Rp125 million to the non-active Pati Regent, Sudewo, through an intermediary. The testimony was given during a bribery and gratification trial at the Semarang Corruption Court on Monday (6/7). Ferry, who was examined as a witness and is also the Director of PT Indria Putra Persada, stated the money was delivered via businessman Nur Widayat, who claimed to be Sudewo’s confidant. ‘I handed over Rp125 million through Nur Widayat. He claimed to be Mr Sudewo’s man,’ Ferry told the panel of judges led by Chief Judge Edwin Pudyono. Ferry explained the handover stemmed from a request by the Commitment Making Officer for the Solo-Semarang Double Track Railway project, Dheky Martin. ‘Mr Dheky said someone would meet me, Mr Sudewo’s man. I was asked to provide a sum of money, the amount was left to me,’ he said. He noted that PT Indria Putra Persada won the tender for the project worth Rp22 billion, and the Rp125 million was taken from the project’s profit share. Upon meeting Nur Widayat, Ferry assumed the money was related to support from Sudewo, who was then a member of the House of Representatives Commission V from the Solo electoral district. ‘I thought Mr Sudewo, as a legislator living near the project site, was certainly helping with land acquisition efforts,’ he stated. However, Ferry admitted he could not confirm whether Sudewo actually received the money as he did not know the former legislator personally. In this case, Sudewo is charged with accepting bribes and gratuities from various projects at the Directorate General of Railways totalling approximately Rp3.8 billion. Prosecutors also charged Sudewo with receiving Rp2.4 billion related to the filling of village apparatus positions in Pati Regency for the 2025 to 2026 period. The Semarang Corruption Court previously rejected Sudewo’s exception plea and ordered the public prosecutor to proceed with the examination by presenting witnesses.
