The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for the Kalimantan region received a delegation from the Indonesian Association of Loading and Unloading Companies (APBMI) at the Kadin Indonesia Tower in Jakarta.

The meeting discussed regulations regarding loading and unloading activities in South Kalimantan, which are considered burdensome for businesses and potentially increase national logistics costs.

The Deputy Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for the Development of Associations/Groups/Extraordinary Members (ALB), Benny Soetrisno, stated that they received reports regarding regulations in South Kalimantan that are considered contradictory and result in additional costs for loading and unloading businesses.

“In the context of reducing logistics costs, policies like this are certainly counterproductive. APBMI has asked Kadin to facilitate and follow up on this issue so that it can be resolved,” said Benny in a statement on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

He affirmed that Kadin will coordinate with relevant ministries, namely the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Manpower. Kadin will also summon port authorities to discuss and clarify the regulations in question, to ensure legal certainty and alignment with applicable regulations.

Similarly, the Deputy Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for the Kalimantan Region, Andi Yuslim Patawari, stated that APBMI is a member of Kadin Indonesia’s ALB, so the aspirations conveyed are a serious concern for the organization.

“We will address this issue and seek the best solution. We must ensure that there are no regulations that become a burden for businesses. If there are regulations that conflict with laws and regulations, they must be stopped,” said Andi.

He added that Kadin Indonesia has a responsibility to provide guarantees for business certainty to businesses in various sectors, including the loading and unloading sector, so that they can actively contribute to driving national economic growth.

“Kadin Indonesia must guarantee businesses, and must actively contribute to advancing the economy in any sector, including the loading and unloading sector in Indonesia,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of APBMI, Juswandi Kristanto, explained that the issue in South Kalimantan originated from the requirement to use Loading and Unloading Labor (TKBM) for gearless ships. According to him, gearless ships that are already equipped with cranes do not require the deployment of TKBM in the loading and unloading process.
